Description
Martin/Martin Wyoming, Inc. is looking for a senior-level engineer to join our Structural Engineering Group in our Cheyenne, Wyoming office. This senior-level engineer will work with multiple project managers on a broad range of project types.
Projects are typically in Wyoming and the Northern Colorado Region but can sometimes take us nationally, offering the opportunity to travel. This position includes opportunities for business development, client relationship management and marketing and allows for interactions with owners, architects, contractors, etc.

Each project presents unique challenges and opportunities to learn and grow as an engineer. The successful candidate will develop expertise in a broad range of structural engineering services.
Plans, budgets, schedules, manages, and designs projects from start of design through end of construction. These projects will typically be larger and/or more complex, taking advantage of his/her skills and experience. Involved in the firm's marketing effort to cultivate existing and develop future clients. Developing advanced technical skills in specific areas. Duties vary based on discipline listed in title.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in conceptual design
- Prepares or assists in fee determination and proposal preparation
- Leads project initiation, management, and closeout processes
- Establishes and follows a QA/QC plan for each project
- Mentors direct reports and assists in their career development
- Attends project meetings and represents company during design and construction
- Participates in billing and collection efforts
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
This position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
- Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
- Carry, ascend, and descend a ladder
- Identify color
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Investigative: Position self in atypical environments and small, confined spaces
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from an ABET accredited engineering/architecture curriculum
- Civil: Completed a minimum of 3 years as a Project Engineer
- Structural and Investigative: Completed a minimum of 2 years as a Project Engineer/Architect and 9 years progressive engineering/architectural experience (MSCE/MSAE or MS Arch counts as 1 year. Passing the 16-hour SE exam also counts as 1 year)
- Demonstrates leadership abilities beneficial to the company’s future
- Consistently meets established financial metrics

- Structural and Investigative: Completed a minimum of 3 years as a Project Engineer/Architect
- Has designed numerous projects and followed them through from start of design to end of construction
- Demonstrates effective internal and external communication skills
- Member of at least one professional and/or technical society

- Shows strong commitment to continued professional development
- Demonstrates advanced project management skills
