What you'll do: 
  • Record payment transactions in the agency system to verify payment accuracy and assist in closing old balances.
  • Prepare and deliver daily payment lists for all payments methods.
  • Assist in preparing general journal entries for various business transactions under the guidance of accounting staff.
  • Support reconciliation of payables with our binding authority to ensure accurate bordereaux payments.
  • Prepare and review expense reclassification entries in the agency software.
  • Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations by identifying, researching, and assisting in resolving discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Process and reconcile claims and survey payables in accordance with financial regulations, insurance syndicate policies, and company guidelines.
  • Document accounting process and general journal entry procedures ensuring consistent publishing and referencing of documentation/file save location.

What you'll bring:
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Must be junior or senior standing at the time of the internship.
  • Must be able to work full-time in Miami, FL (33126) during the summer with the potential opportunity to extend work part-time during the school year.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
