The current team of 7 work 3 to 4 days on with 3 to 4 days off. Shifts are 13 hours from 5:30a to 6:30p with nights being 5:30p to 6:30a. Every member of the team rotates through days and nights. We%27re looking for Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to take initiative and be independent in order entry and managing most of the complex medical problems that present in the medical ICU. APPs must possess the ability to admit and/or transfer patients independently without help, display recognition of sick patients and urgency, properly evaluate problems and generate a differential diagnosis, initiate and adjust treatment plans per patient response and must be able to perform bedside procedures (central/arterial lines; thoracentesis; paracentesis; thoracostomy; intubations) for which they bill independently.
