THIS ROLE:
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing and driving the technology strategy, vision, and execution within the organization. This strategic role requires a combination of technical expertise and business acumen. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and external partners to identify and implement innovative technological solutions that align with our business objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Oversee the buildout, implementation, remediation, integration, security, and continued support of all IT related services and equipment.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of enterprise platforms, including ERP, CRM, HRIS, procurement, and analytics.
- Manage the analysis of business unit operations to determine the value to the customer and develop tactical operating processes and systems to support the service.
- Support business unit strategy and develop operational processes.
- Provide operating metrics and trends, synthesizing data into meaningful information including obtaining data, organizing data, analyzing data, creating reporting, and presentation of information.
- Advance data-driven decision-making through business intelligence, AI/ML, and predictive analytics to improve performance and outcomes.
- Monitor all processes and activities
to ensure adherence to policies, standards, procedures and compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
- Apply operational improvement tools to identify key problem drivers/root causes and achieve business process improvement.
- Will work with the various company departments to ensure that business unit systems and companywide systems are properly integrated.
- Work with the various stakeholders to identify business requirements and evaluate new technology solutions that will drive efficiency and allow for sustained growth.
- Function as the business lead and/or project manager in the delivery of new systems and/or business process improvements.
- Oversee IT infrastructure, including cloud services, networks, hardware, and software assets.
- Lead the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Maintain and improve vessel communication and cybersecurity systems.
- Manage and grow helpdesk and support team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Technology is responsible for managing and developing the internal technology team, including oversight of:
- IT Infrastructure and Help Desk personnel
oversight
- Data management and system connections
- IT budgets
- Hardware and software management
- Database administration and system integrations
This role ensures that all technology personnel operate with efficiency, accountability, and alignment to Curtin Maritime’s strategic and operational goals.
WHO YOU ARE:
Certifications and Other Requirements
- Bachelor's
in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications and/or an
master’s degree
is a plus.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, driving technology strategy and execution in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical background with expertise in areas such as ERP, CRM software development, infrastructure management, cloud infrastructure, , cybersecurity, data analytics and digital transformation.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in relevant domains.
- Proven experience in managing technology budgets, making data-driven decisions, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- 15+years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior manager or director role.
