Maintenance Technician Trainee Program
This program consists of on-the-job training and attending, completing, and passing the classes associated with the DMACC program.
Shift: The candidate will work a daytime schedule and attend DMACC in parallel. Their weekly commitment will total 40 hours, which includes both on-the-job training and DMACC coursework. Some weekends may be required. Upon successful completion of the Industrial Technician program, the employee will transition into a Maintenance Technician role and must be willing to accept any available shift assignment.
Pay Rate: $21.25 - $29.75

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary role of the Industrial Maintenance Technician Trainee is to develop the skills and ability to continuously improve the reliability, efficiency, and utilization of plant equipment and manufacturing processes. This is accomplished through training on the job with experienced Technicians and completion of and Industrial Technician Diploma through DMACC.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains tool room equipment including plates and blades.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment, facility structures, and ensure equipment is safe to operate and operate as designed
- Engage with peers and internal customers to work toward optimal operation of our systems and processes
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
- Performs daily equipment tear down and set up in preparation for Sanitation and production runs
- Perform Facility rounds, inspect assigned areas for equipment or facility damage, document findings, generate PMD work orders for follow up repairs.
- Inspects facility safety equipment such as fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems to ensure compliance is always maintained
- Will be required to work with and develop equipment and/or process changes deemed to be confidential information and/or trade secrets owned by the company. This person will be required to protect the company's rights in and ownership of those trade secrets and confidential information
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 months of work history
- Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
- Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)
- One-year experience in facility maintenance and repair
- Familiarity with forklift, skid loaders, and similar equipment
- Requires basic math, reading, and writing skills, manual dexterity, and ability to maintain a rapid pace for extended periods.
- Self-motivation and team attitude are essential.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and have the physical ability to do the following tasks for extended periods of time: standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing up steps and using ladders.
- Able to work in loud and hot and cold environments.
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
- Must have a valid driver’s license
