Job Requirements: 

  • Data analysis
  • Experience in project and team management, financial analysis, and technical knowledge
  • 10–15 years of experience in project/team management in the Automotive industry or equivalent management position in PO
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Good understanding of product technical aspects and production processes
    (acquired through industry experience or engineering education)
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, build robust relationships, and inspire confidence

Duties:

Manufacturing Readiness & Launch

  • Ensure smooth, non-event customer launches for new products within division objectives and financial targets.
  • Coordinate all production transfers from program team to plant team.
  • Guarantee transition from program to plant between Gates 5 and 7 for Austin program bundles and launches.
  • Create strong interfaces between Projects and Operations; ensure ownership of critical items.

Standards, Quality & Compliance

  • Promote standards and processes that drive excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, HSE (Health, Safety, Environment), and environmental requirements internally and externally.
  • Apply documented standard processes for product development (Gate process, PAÜ/PAB, timing schedule, RFP, LOP).

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Prepare Launch Readiness reports, indicators, PDCA closures, and manage showstoppers.
  • Report partial results under Gate Process and during periodic project status meetings.
  • Communicate project status effectively to stakeholders via presentations, reviews, and risk assessments.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Escalate risks for program success to relevant management teams.
  • Act as first escalation point for resource conflicts (labor, machines, CMM).
  • Perform regular risk management (monthly), rank risks, assign mitigation actions, and integrate escalation levels.

Project Coordination & Cost Control

  • Organize and deliver project objectives.
  • Manage infrastructure planning, program management, and labor (direct & indirect).
  • Contribute to reducing start-up costs.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM targets for quality, cost, and deadlines using profit-assurance methods (Risk management, FMEA, change management).

Technology & Supplier Management

  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and integration of new production technologies.
  • Participate in make-or-buy decisions and supplier selection within sourcing committees.
  • Leverage supplier know-how within prescribed standards.

Commercial & Financial Support

  • Support sales in preparing project-related offers, calculations, and negotiations.
  • Track tooling recovery and customer payments with sales.

Personnel & Leadership

  • Plan internal/external capacity and assist in team member selection based on skills.
  • Provide feedback for annual staff appraisals when necessary.
  • Lead and moderate efficient team meetings with proper documentation and visualization.

Customer & Supplier Interaction

  • Interact assertively and respectfully with customers while achieving company goals.

Change Management

  • Implement HBPO’s change management process to improve project profitability.

Risk & Opportunity Steering

  • Identify risks and opportunities; implement countermeasures and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Moderate periodic risk management meetings and monitor risks throughout the project cycle (Gate 2–Gate 7).

Other Responsibilities

  • Contribute to improvement activities in the working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industrial safety, environmental protection, and energy management requirements.
