The role you’ll contribute:

 

Responsible for overseeing the School Health program for the designated school. This position monitors and maintains regulatory compliance according to evidence-based practice. Additionally, this role develops and expands the school health program, including delivery of health services, reporting, and regulatory compliance. In addition, this position participates in the implementation and evaluation of student care, ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of students and staff. Additionally, this role manages illness and control of infectious diseases, implements immunization programs, and provides school-based lectures on health education. This position also assists teachers in dealing with children who have special healthcare needs such as asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy.

  • Monitors student immunization records, administers immunization surveys, and ensures compliance with state health department requirements.
  • Administers medications to non-self-directed students according to state education guidelines.
  • Documents and observes students’ ability to achieve self-direction and provides treatment as prescribed by the primary care provider.
  • Assesses students’ health suitability for attending school field trips.
  • Manages and collaborates with school staff in addressing medical emergencies.
  • Monitors communicable diseases and conditions.

  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Technical/Vocational School [Required]
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required] OR
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] AND
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
