Substitute Teacher (Long Term) at Doxa Church

Position Title: Long Term Substitute
Reports To: Grammar Lead
Employment Status: Temporary, Part-time (hourly)
Duration: 6-8 weeks beginning 2/2026 (Dates pending teacher leave.)

Summary: The purpose of this temporary support role is to assist the Eden academic team by providing coverage and instructional support when a long-term substitute teacher is needed.

Qualifications:

• Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a passionate, growing, personal relationship with Him.
• Be a member of a local church and wholeheartedly embrace the doctrine of Doxa Church.
• This person must be humble, loyal, trustworthy, capable, flexible, detail-oriented, able to hold confidence and have a servant’s heart. In addition, this individual must be able to comprehend and implement the vision and initiatives of Eden Classical Academy and possess excellent clerical, organizational, and computer skills with good interpersonal competencies.
  

Experience or Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience working with young children in a classroom, childcare, or related setting. Basic understanding of child development and early learning practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, teachers, and parents.
• Ability to follow a provided scope and sequence and uphold classroom management.
  

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare weekly lesson plans for respective courses to include lectures, discussions, and application through projects and hands-on activities that are appropriate for subjects.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and transitions.
• Must be organized in record-keeping, attendance, and documentation as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment.
• Communicate positively with students, teachers, and parents.
• Uphold the school’s mission, values, and policies.
