Job Summary

The Senior Director Marketing Portfolio Lead is a strategic advisor to line of business (LOB) executives to align marketing strategies to business objectives and create integrated marketing plans to deliver business outcomes. The Senior Director Marketing Portfolio leads the effort across Enterprise Marketing Communications (EMC) to bring marketing strategies to life across all marketing channels and disciplines.

This role directs a team of integrated marketing professionals to create integrated marketing programs that align with business objectives and drive outcomes.

Portfolio Leads also assemble and lead cross-functional teams across the Enterprise Marketing Communications (EMC) team to ensure that all prioritized line of business (LOB) projects are completed on time and within budget. They are also responsible for overseeing the development of new creative concepts or ideas. This position will lead field communications for the line of business as a strategic component of the overall communications strategy.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Acts as strategic advisor to line of business executives to identify and align marketing opportunities to business objectives.
  • Engages and partners with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with overall business and sales goals.
  • Directs and collaborates with marketers to execute integrated marketing campaigns that leverage multiple channels and tactics to drive line of business goals and objectives.
  • Provides outside-in market insights and knowledge to both line of business leaders and Enterprise Marketing Communications teams.
  • Sets the marketing vision for key business priorities and components of line of business and Enterprise Marketing Communications strategic plans.
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Marketing Communications and line of business stakeholders to develop strategic marketing plans, goals, and associated roadmap for the line of business to help drive outcomes.
  • Coaches the Portfolio Aligned Team (PAT), supplies context for programs and activities to ensure alignment to expected business outcomes.
  • Leads as a peer as an Enterprise Marketing Communications functional subject matter expert.
  • Drives field communications initiatives to ensure alignment with overall marketing strategy and enhance local engagement.
  • Partners with key stakeholders and staff to ensure marketing plans and roadmaps are delivered on time, within budget, and reach desired impact.
  • Manages budgets for marketing programs, strategically, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
  • Identifies and documents line of business key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure impact. Partners with Analytics team to outline measurement plan and leads analysis of measurement plan to inform future marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Advocates for talent engagement within LOBs, opens doors after alignment is achieved with EMC leaders and staff.
  • Serves as a partner to enable and advocate for enterprise-related programming.
  • Establishes portfolio review with line of business in partnership with Portfolio Strategy and Management.

Education or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, communications or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience Marketing and Financial Services experience required.

  • 5+ years of business acumen in the life insurance, institutional retirement plan, or group benefits.

  • Skilled in prioritizing projects and allocating resources efficiently.
  • MBA or equivalent work experience recommended.
  • Ability to set marketing vision and align strategies with business objectives.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills to partner with LOB executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication for executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to lead field communications and ensure alignment with enterprise strategy.

 

Salary Band: 8C

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
