About the Role

As a Counter Specialist, you’ll be the face of Johnstone Supply, assisting customers at the counter, by phone, and online. You’ll provide expert product support, process orders, and ensure every customer has an outstanding experience. You’ll also stay current on products and industry trends through ongoing training and collaboration with teammates and factory reps.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Assist customers with product selection, troubleshooting, and technical questions.
  • Manage calls and walk-ins professionally while handling multiple requests.
  • Research products using POS systems, catalogs, and online tools.
  • Process orders, returns, and warranties accurately and efficiently.
  • Communicate proactively with customers regarding quotes, order updates, and delivery timelines.
  • Build rapport with regular customers and provide personalized service.

Sales

  • Educate customers about Johnstone Supply’s products and promotions.
  • Recommend complementary products to boost customer satisfaction and sales.
  • Provide quotes and follow up to close opportunities.
  • Support inventory management by promoting surplus or discounted items.
  • Stay informed on new products and industry trends through training and collaboration.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or GED; 2+ years of related HVAC/R experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Solid understanding of sales techniques and relationship building.
  • Working knowledge of HVACR products and systems.
  • Proficiency with POS systems and online research tools.
  • Team-oriented attitude and clear communication skills.
