Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA):

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • The position will include assisting in the development of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, data collection for students with Autism
  • Promotes effective interpersonal relations with students
  • Maintains records of students and prepares periodic reports as required
  • Plans evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and groups of students
  • Adjust intervention strategies based upon student performance and data collection
  • Analyzes and interprets information to make relevant school-based recommendations regarding the need for educational services
  • Coordinates behavioral services with student services provided by other school personnel
  • Provide appropriate information on an informal or formal basis regarding behavioral functioning through consultation, trainings and or professional development
  • Other duties may be assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Utilizing leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and applied technical skills, the BCBA will provide behavior analysis services for students with autism in the Fort Wayne Community School district.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BCBA certification is required or in process
  • Adheres to established rules, regulations, laws, and appropriate ethical standards
  • Demonstrates awareness of professional performance in due process matters and litigious environments

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Physical Demands – Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Working Conditions – Generally acceptable working environment with limited exposure to disagreeable elements. Exposure to such conditions may make working environment disagreeable or cause discomfort occasionally but has minor impact on personal safety and/or mental well-being.
  • Driving Requirement – This job description does require the incumbent to drive from building to building.

PROBATION INFORMATION:

  • New employees must successfully complete their probationary period to be eligible to apply for posted positions.
  • Employees must remain in their current position a minimum of sixty (60) calendar days to be eligible to apply for any non-lateral posted position.
  • Current non-probationary employees may only apply for lateral positions at the end of each school year.
