Qualifications


 

What you'll do as our Lead Order Entry Specialist

  • Supervise order-entry staff, helping employees perform their work accurately, efficiently, and consistently, in keeping with the company's policies and procedures.
  • Working with the department manager, help employees set and maintain appropriate performance goals and standards, including conducting competency evaluations, progress reports and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and adjust personnel, tasks, and assignments to ensure a smooth workflow and to accommodate changes in volume of work and employee absences.
  • Schedule order-entry technicians to ensure the staffing requirements of the shift are met.
  • Help with the onboarding process of new facilities
  • Participate in analysis and development of departmental processes, as well as the implementation and administration of quality improvement programs by compiling order entry metrics
  • Work with all departments to ensure that all aspects of order entry operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Work with employees to ensure that required tasks and communications are appropriately completed and documented.
  • Pro-actively handle non-clinical customer inquiries, functioning as the primary resource in handling questions from routine to complex in a fast-paced call center environment.
  • Supplement the order-entry workforce to ensure orders are entered timely.
  • Comply with all applicable government regulations, standards of practice, company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.
  • Take part in quality improvement programs to meet company and accreditation standards.

 

What we need

  • Current unencumbered license in the state of practice: Certified Pharmacy Technician (certification not required for Illinois Pharmacy Technicians licensed before 2008).
  • 3-5 years order-entry experience in a specialized environment such as long-term care or hospital pharmacy.
  • Excellent math, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Every other weekend and 3 holidays per year required.
