A Day in the Life

Product DNA is a transformational program across the Medtronic enterprise to simplify the way we create, manage, and utilize product data. The north star vision of Product DNA is to create a foundational connected digital thread of product information. The Product DNA program will improve upon outdated technology and infrastructure through streamlining systems used across the organization, as well as implementing best-in-class practices and procedures.  This change will impact all groups, functions, and regions across Medtronic. This will be a multi–year, multi-phase program.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Process Improvement Program Manager to join our global Windchill PLM implementation program team. In this critical role you will be responsible for scoping future waves by working across various global functions and design and manufacturing sites to document their ways of working, data flows, interfaces and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system capabilities.  You will work closely with subject matter experts and the project team to document the current state and gaps with the planned future state with the new Windchill PLM environment. Your work will be essential in creating clear understanding of the scope and gaps between current operations and future state functionality, ensuring a smooth transition for end-users.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Work with future wave Operating Units, Global Operations & Supply Chain and Functions to scope user needs, map out high-level customer ways of working and/or data flows.

  • Conduct early VOC sessions.

  • Identify capability needs based on existing systems used and their automated and manual data interfaces to other systems.

  • Inventory existing processes/procedures/WIs.

  • Document the current-state landscape and rough out as-is & to-be process maps/landscapes.

  • Identify high level gaps between current / in-development capabilities and current capabilities being used by future waves.

  • Help users to find any missing interfaces (both manual and systematic) and other dependencies.

  • Determine where major data migration challenges might lie.

  • Document user needs along the way.

  • Collaborate with end-users, subject matter experts (SMEs), and project stakeholders across different functional areas (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory) and site locations.

  • Work with the implementation team and SMEs to understand the defined future state within Windchill.

  • Maintain organized documentation repositories for easy access and review.

  • Organize and facilitate user workshops and meetings.

  • Use facilitation techniques to ensure productive discussions and consensus-building.

  • Maintain detailed records of meetings, decisions, and action items.

  • Develop an understanding of the design of current and future state system and workflows.

Must Have (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience as a Business Process Analyst, Process Analyst, or in Quality Management Systems, Engineering, and/or Regulatory roles within the medical device or a similarly regulated industry—including program management experience. (Or 3+ years of experience with an advanced degree.)

  • Proven experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Direct hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM.

  • Experience working within a regulated industry (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical) and familiarity with associated quality systems (e.g., QMS, ISO 13485, GxP).

  • Experience participating in large-scale system implementation projects (ERP, PLM, MES).

  • Familiarity with core PLM concepts such as Document Management, Change Management, Bill of Materials (BOM) Management.

  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, and alignment skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to expertly navigate software

  • Excellent interviewing and requirements gathering skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business process documentation.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$110,400.00 - $165,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
