Job Summary

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $113,800 - $242,800 (Annual Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Masters' Degree in clinical genetic counseling
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and to manage the complex workflow and competing priorities involved with providing quality care as a genetic counselor
- Knowledge of relevant medical center, HR and UC policies and processes
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment
- Solid organizational and customer service skills to structure unit operations and lead assigned staff in an efficient and effective manner
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively, coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization
- Solid verbal and written communication skills to explain technical genetic concepts and communicate sensitive information to patients and families
- Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in word processing and spreadsheet software
- Solid knowledge of organization's genetic counseling application programs to troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements in convenience and efficiency
