Job Title: Executive Director of Finance

Department:  Finance

Reports to: Managing Director

The executive director of finance will be a strategic leader responsible to plan and direct the accounting, finance, procurement, and IT operations of the Resort. This individual is responsible for creating, implementing, maintaining, and leading effective financial controls. This position will maintain and continually improve a financial operations system that reflects and accommodates financial complexity that supports the development and management of cash flow analysis, internal financials, and budgets. This person is responsible for developing strategic action plans, managing to the 5 year plan, and provides operational insight and organizational strategies by bringing an external financial perspective to the operation, translating financial data into action plan

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a highly talented team to include exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Builds trusting relationships and holds department leadership accountable to become the business owners of their department, aligning action plans, and raising challenging issues
  • Ensure compliance to current legislation and upcoming change readiness.
  • Oversight of all budget and financial reporting to include project and capex related budgets.
  • Serve as primary liaison for all government agencies relative to financial information/issues.
  • Produce annual budgets and monthly financial statements.
  • Responsible for contract and lease arrangements in partnership with the legal team.
  • Partner with the Executive Team and department heads to develop annual commercial strategic plan.
  • Monitor and approve A/P weekly check runs and manual payroll checks.
  • Oversee and approve capital requests and track versus capital budget.
  • Partner with Controller to ensure credit worthiness of groups and aging guidelines
  • Ensure that key leaders are informed of any contract, billing, control issues on the property.
  • Demonstrate ownership in any tasks needed to carry out Resort Service Standards, constantly embracing ways to create guests for life

Personal Qualifications:

  • Prior experience motivating a team of leaders.
  • Experience in hospitality, amusement park or other high-volume businesses is preferred.
  • CPA or Master’s Degree in Finance or relevant experience a plus.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects while maintaining deadlines.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
