Pay Range: $27.24 to $40.86 

Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

 

Full Time Cost Accountant I - La Crosse, WI: 

  

Our Corporate Accounting Department is looking for a driven cost accountant to support Kwik Trip, Inc’s production, distribution, store engineering, and retail facilities in the development and analysis of standard product costs.  As part of the Accounting team, the Cost Accountant 1 will be responsible for timely and accurate setup, maintenance, and reporting, of production accounting data and financial reports.   

 

Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Reviewing the setup and maintenance of production master data 
  • Assisting in preparing production cost results and variance analysis including changes in raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services 
  • Communication of the results of financial performance to management and providing supporting documentation to 3rd party auditors 
  • Assisting with preparation of month end financial reports and period end close support 
  • Maintaining department overhead formula valuations and allocations across multiple product lines and facilities 
  • Assist in cost analysis projects and analyzing large data sets

 

  

Qualifications:  

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 
  • 0-2 years’ work experience
  • Ability to lead company initiatives  
  • Hands on experience preparing financial spreadsheets and extracting data from databases to prepare reports for analysis 
  • In depth knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing,

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of projects and responsibilities 
  • High degree of confidentiality 

  

Work Schedule:  Monday through Friday, daytime hours, or as needed to perform duties.
