Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to perform railcar and train billing procedures. This role involves preparing and verifying billing documentation for railcars, coordinating with relevant departments, and ensuring accuracy in all billing processes. The position requires flexibility to work during nights and weekends as needed to meet operational demands.
- Accurately process and prepare railcar/train billing documentation. Some night and weekend work required.
- Verify shipment details, including railcar numbers, cargo, destinations, and rates.
- Calculate freight costs to ensure accuracy for train settlements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations for billing procedures.
- Coordinate with railroads, merchandisers, and customers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records of billing transactions.
- Monitor railcar movement and update billing systems accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or agriculture preferred, or equivalent experience, supplemented with minimum five+ years of outside customer service experience, Ag sector preferred but not required.
- Relevant experience in the grain business is helpful, but not a requirement.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Experience with working in successful teams.
- Possess strong analytic skills.
- Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Experience in a dynamic work environment is beneficial.
- Ability to work with various computer programs including MS Office and AGRIS.
