POSITION SUMMARY: Entry level Supervisor responsible for the security of casino assets, customer service, and the supervision of Table Games Dealers assigned to specific table games.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Strong customer service skills.

 

  • Ability to supervise employees and offer coaching and corrective counseling.

 

  • Stay alert, in proper position, and on task at all times in your pit.

 

  • Assist dealers and players as needed to keep dead time on the tables to a minimum.

 

  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The supervision and responsibility for Table Games Dealers and the security of the tables with in your designated pit.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able learn and perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

 

  • Must learn all policies and procedures for the table games in the pit you are supervising.
  • Must read and study the Table Games Supervisor Manual.
  • Study and grow your knowledge of Title 31 policies including SARC reporting, CTRC, and the MTL.
  • Must learn all of the reasons Surveillance needs to be contacted.
  • Must learn and memorize all Jackpot thresholds.
  • Must learn how to open tables, close tables, send fills/credits, fill out an NOA, and count down a table.
  • Must learn the Table Manager program, and how to properly rate players.
  • Must learn how to issue comps with a Tier II or Tier III Supervisors approval.
  • Must learn how correct basic floor calls on all tables assigned.
  • Must learn how to access and utilize the Black Book and Corrective Counseling forms.
  • Must learn the dealer rotation and how to adjust it when needed for the pit you are assigned.
  • Must learn table limit spreads for the pit you are assigned.
  • Must learn the time limits on the playing cards and when to cancel them out.
  • Must learn signs of a possible card counter and advantage player.
  • Must learn and have an understanding of Basic Strategy on games assigned and pass a test with 75% accuracy.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must pass the dealer school and have a minimum of three (3) months dealing experience in the previous 12 months, or have two (2) years of Table Games experience in the past three (3) years. 
  • Previous Table Games dealing and/or Supervisor experience at another casino can qualify for Tier I Supervisor and is at the discretion of the Table Games Manager.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • None

 

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

  • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
  • Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
  • Ability to see color and hear in a loud environment.
  • Ability to work late with mental clarity.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
