Position Purpose Manages Internal Finance Funds (Campus and Student Activity), provides customer service to Principals and Campus Secretaries, supports administrative duties and assists with all aspects of accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Accounting
Serve as the liaison between staff, granting agencies, and the District Business and Finance Departments in budgeting, preparation of grant proposals, and progress reporting.
Act as the liaison between the financial services department and campuses, providing accounting support to principals and school secretaries regarding Activity Funds processes and procedures.
Provide training workshops for principals, assistant principals, and secretaries on the proper procedures for handling IFF accounts and the use of software systems related to IFF Funds.
Reconcile the activity fund master account for the District on a monthly basis.
Run queries and reports on Activity Fund Software to ensure the accuracy of data input by school personnel.
Analyze and generate detailed reports to assist the Audit Department in campus audits.
Perform accounting activities, including bank reconciliation, general ledger entries, and budget allocation entries.
Lead the purchase of new Activity Funds software and/or commence the process to recommend centralization of accounting for Activity Funds.
Administration
Collaborate with administrators, principals, departments, and staff regarding budget and accounting issues.
Develop the daily schedule for courier pick-up of cash at each campus and administrative office annually.
Act as the software support liaison between the IFF software vendor and the schools.
Participate in year-end close and audits related to Campus and Student Activity Funds.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of grant requirements and District policies and procedures to assure compliance.
Knowledge of current principles and procedures.
Knowledge of office methods, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of statistical and arithmetical presentation of data.
Knowledge of SchoolBooks software preferred.
Knowledge of conducting training workshops.
Use of computers in accounting functions.
analyze financial records and perform complex mathematical calculations.
Ability to operate a ten-key calculator and computer using Windows, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word software programs.
Ability to exercise discretion regarding matters of sensitive or confidential nature.
Ability to exercise judgment in setting priorities, resolve office operational problems and the application of policies, procedures, and methods.
Ability to initiate and compose correspondence and written materials independently.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in a multiethnic educational environment.

Ability to prepare, review, and interpret reports.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
Environment: Works in an office setting; requires occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university accounting or business-related field required.
Certification/License: None.
Experience: 4 years’ in accounting or business related required; 2 years’ governmental fund accounting preferred.
