Requirements:  

  • 2 years of job-related experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent experience
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in a production environment.
  • Available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends & holidays
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Travel: Between multiple work, locations will be required (within a few miles)

Job Description: 

A facilities mechanic is responsible for the duties necessary to help keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. This includes, but not limited, to the completion of minor maintenance repairs and other primary functions. A facilities mechanic performs:

  • Aids in the performance of urgent, corrective repairs of minor problems related to electrical and plumbing systems
  • Assists in the replacing and repairing of equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required
  • Maintains routine records of all repairs
  • Completes preventive maintenance on a continuous basis to ensure continues operation of the facility
  • Completes manual duties as requested, such as moving supplies, replacing light bulbs, locks, doors, etc.
  • Maintains facilities according to regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the insurance facilities are properly maintained, paint walls and/or equipment and make minor painting repairs
  • Coordinate with departments acting as liaison to departments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge in preventive maintenance practices and schedules to ensure repairs are properly maintained and operational
  • Familiarity with power tools and machinery that may be needed for repairs
  • Understanding of safety regulations and standards related to facility maintenance
  • The ability to identify, analyze, and solve any complex facility maintenance issues
  • General methods and practices used in a variety of building trades, such as carpentry, general construction, electric, plumbing, painting, and heating/air conditioning systems.

Physical Duties and Requirements:

  • Frequent moving and standing to build orders, repalletize, and wrap pallets with shrink wrap
  • Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, and carrying of cases of finished product (up to 40 lbs.) for repalletization
  • Occasional bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, and carrying of pallets (30 lbs.) to separate and place in designated piles according to pallet type • Occasional pulling of pallet jack to organize empty pallets
  • Occasional overhead reaching, pulling, and lifting (30-40 lbs.) to open/close trailer doors
  • Constant work near moving mechanical parts (other forklifts)
  • Constant exposure to electrical equipment (forklift batteries and charging stations)
  • Employees are required to sit for the majority of their shift to operate their forklift around the warehouse and occasionally in a confined space (refrigerated trailers) • Employees are occasionally required to work in a warm and humid warehouse environment (80-90°F)

Job Details: 

  • Work Hours: 1st Shift 6am-2:30pm Monday-Saturday
  • Work Attire: Use good judgment, keeping in mind the nature of their work, their own safety and the safety of others, and their need to interact with the public.  
  • Pay Range: $19.25/hr. to $21.50/hr.
