Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are
You are a skilled, safety-minded mechanic with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile mining or construction equipment. You take pride in doing quality work, communicating effectively with your team, and keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. You are dependable, adaptable, and bring a strong work ethic to every shift.
This is a safety sensitive position. As the Mechanic you report to Mobile Maintenance Supervisor.
What You Do
- Performing daily equipment inspections and routine service such as checking and replacing air filters, fluids, and lubricants.
- Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance on light and heavy mobile equipment in accordance with maintenance plans.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.
- Performing component change-outs, rebuilds, welding, and fabrication as required.
- Completing minor and major repairs on mobile and support equipment with minimal supervision.
- Troubleshooting equipment failures, performing failure analysis, and documenting findings.
- Maintaining accurate records of repairs, service, and preventative maintenance in maintenance software systems.
- Coordinating with Maintenance Expeditors to ensure parts are ordered and received accurately and on time.
- Communicating effectively with Maintenance and Operations teams regarding equipment status and repair progress.
- Maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe work environment and adhering to all company and regulatory safety procedures.
- Providing leadership, mentoring, and direction to less experienced mechanics as assigned.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Commitment to working safely and promoting a strong safety culture.
- Experience: Typically 2–10+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of mobile construction or mining equipment, depending on level of assignment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems; ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
- Understanding of lubrication principles, including proper use of greases and oils.
- Proficiency with maintenance software (e.g., Manager Plus) and general computer skills.
- Ability to operate a 26,000-pound lube/service truck and other support vehicles.
- Ability to climb, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in positions requiring prolonged bending, kneeling, and standing.
- Possession of own tools and toolbox appropriate to the level of work performed (up to and including ¾-inch drive set for higher levels).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to take and give direction as needed.
- Leadership or mentoring experience preferred for advanced levels.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, rotating schedules, and overtime as needed.
