About the Role:
The Solid Waste & Recycling Cart Technician performs skilled and semi-skilled work related to the distribution, repair, and maintenance of garbage and recycling carts across Greensboro. The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret maps and route information to deliver and collect solid waste and recycling carts efficiently
Follow all City of Greensboro operating procedures, safety rules, and work instructions
Perform cart assembly, repair, cleaning, labeling, and replacement as needed
Learn and apply a variety of maintenance methods, materials, and safe work practices
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with residents and responding to service requests
Adapt to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events in daily assignments
Document completed work accurately and maintain communication with supervisors and teammates
Operate small hand tools and light equipment safely and responsibly

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Or an equivalency of No High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of directly related experience in Solid Waste and Recycling
- Less than 1 year of Solid Waste and Recycling experience
• Previous experience in Solid Waste and Recycling.
