Job Summary
The Business, Marketing, and Personal Finance Teacher will design and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction to help high school students develop essential business knowledge, financial literacy, and career readiness skills. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking, creativity, and practical problem-solving through real-world applications, projects, and experiential learning opportunities. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education, Marketing Education, Finance, or related field
Experience
- Two or more years of upper school teaching experience and/or preparation in Biblically-centered academic instruction preferred
- Experience implementing curriculum
- Background in business or industry experience
Certifications/Licenses
- A valid state teaching license/certification in Business or Career & Technical Education (CTE)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively and tactfully communicate with leadership, peers, faculty, students, parents, volunteers and the external community
- Strong understanding of financial literacy, marketing principles, and business management
Technologies
- Must be skilled at current educational technology and its applications within the school, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familar with Canvas and instructional technologies
Physical Capabilities
- Able to stand and walk for a majority of the day; speak and hear clearly; operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment; reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop and twist; and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Able to walk up and down stairs

Work Hours/Travel
- Work week is consistent with standard school schedule of Monday through Friday with occasional work in the evenings or on weekends for special school events and activities

Job Functions and Tasks
Essential Functions – Administrative & Classroom Management
- Work collaboratively with CCA Administration to implement and enforce the school’s disciplinary policies, dress code, and standards of behavior
- Lead by example to encourage the development of a positive Christian school culture
- Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom and communicate classroom needs in accordance with school policy
- Develop and maintain an organized process for disseminating assignments
- Promptly grade and return student work
- Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good learning environment
- Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records
- Demonstrate understanding of how to work with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds
- Maintain emergency preparedness and safety procedures consistent with established protocols
- Represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school’s constituency and the general public
- Treat all students with kindness and respect and continually reinforce their self-worth in Christ while equipping them with knowledge and tools needed to make positive life choices
- Regularly collaborate with teaching colleagues, administration and other school personnel to contribute to the positive development of the school environment, learning community, programs and activities
- Attend and participate in all scheduled in-service, committee, faculty, and parent-teacher organization meetings
Essential Functions - Instructional
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum in business, marketing, entrepreneurship, and personal finance aligned with state and district standards
- Regularly integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout all activities and lesson plans
- Teach a variety of courses such as Introduction to Business, Marketing Principles, Personal Finance, and Entrepreneurship
- Facilitate timely feedback with students and parents to ensure students remain on track with learning goals and objectives
- Plan engaging lessons that promote student inquiry, creativity, and real-world connections.
- Incorporate project-based learning, simulations, and case studies to enhance student understanding of financial and business concepts.
- Sponsor or support career and technical student organizations
such as DECA or FBLA - Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and community partners to support student career exploration and post-secondary planning
Supplemental Functions
- Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth
- May include after-school responsibilities such as advising clubs, attending school events, or coordinating community partnerships
