The Office of Strategic Communications, Health Sciences, is seeking a project manager to join our team. We are looking for a self-starter who is excited to learn and grow in the ever-evolving higher education communications and marketing space.

You? You’re the calm, well-organized, resourceful, attention-to-detail type who thrives in a fast-paced atmosphere and knows how to corral resources to make sure great work gets done on time. And you have the project management chops to oversee the flow of projects from start to finish too, which is even better.

As a project manager, you’ll work with our team to deliver a broad and diverse portfolio of work. You’ll be quick to recognize potential gaps and adept at helping to fill them. You’ll also help guide effective workflow from project initiation through production.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from project definition to delivery.
  • Create project plans, schedules, budget updates and other deliverables that ensure projects are staying on time and on budget.
  • Create appropriate project documentation to help our internal teams understand what is expected of them, so that they deliver quality work in an efficient manner.
  • Manage resources for all potential and assigned projects
  • Distribute tasks, briefs and assignments working with appropriate supervisors to assess staff capacity
  • Assist in the identification and management of vendors and freelancers
  • Receive, analyze and report on weekly utilization reports to department leads
  • Work with department supervisors to identify and align freelance resources based on craft, skill set, availability and financial feasibility. Cost negotiation, freelance authorization.

Oversees all aspects of planning, design, and execution of large or complex projects. Assists in developing timelines and ensures adherence to deadlines. Manages financial aspects of projects and other administrative duties. Handles external correspondence and drafts reports and other communications.

  • Confident, proactive, diligent, and hardworking; able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Proficient at managing multiple projects simultaneously, often to tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional management skills with ability to appropriately resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of design and print/web production and project-management tools.
  • Financial awareness, and ability to estimate accurately and manage project budgets.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
