Position Duties
Assistant Director – Operations
The Assistant Director of Public Works – Operations will assist the Director of Public Works and directly oversee the operational functions of the Department of Public Works. The Assistant Director of Public Works – Operations should have at least ten years of management experience, preferably in a state or local government agency, and should have at least five years of operations experience overseeing programs such as street maintenance, waste collection, traffic engineering, parking, building maintenance, or motor vehicle maintenance. The Assistant Director of Public Works – Operations will have oversight of the following areas:
- Continuous improvement & quality control
- Street maintenance operations
- On-street and off-street parking
- Curbside waste and recyclables collections
- Vacant properties nuisance abatement
- Building maintenance
- Vision zero & mobility
