Welcome to the Boots Opticians Central Operations Team – the engine room powering everything that happens in our stores.

We're passionate about making store operations and processes as simple, efficient, and right-first-time as possible, so our store teams can focus on what matters most – spending time with our customers.

As Central Operations, we work hand-in-hand with all support office teams to ensure everything gets delivered to stores smoothly and effectively. Whether it's equipment, systems, or process improvements, we're here to make things happen. We're the go-to team for stores making sure our colleagues have what they need to deliver great customer care every day.

 

About the role

As Stores Operations Lead you are proactive, with a passion for simplifying processes and making life easier for store teams. You are also naturally collaborative with both support office teams and external partners as you will work on projects involving many teams and moving parts.
 

Key responsibilities

  • Embodying frontline obsession making sure all activity is to make things simpler and clearer for stores
  • Act as the central support for stores, ensuring operational processes are simple, efficient, and fit for purpose through effective cross-functional collaboration and project facilitation.
  • Own and manage all store operational communications including Practice Perfect guidance, alerts, and support with weekend on-call support, ensuring appropriate responses to store needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and Boots UK teams to uphold SLAs and deliver robust compliance processes, including Health & Safety and Self-Audit.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure hardware and software updates to stores are delivered seamlessly
  • Maintain all Central Operations shared inboxes, ensuring queries are answered in a timely manner

 

What you'll need to have

  • A strong communicator who can liaise directly with stores, and be able to work cross-functionally on projects with other teams & external suppliers
  • You bring strong operational awareness and a customer-first mindset, with recent Opticians store experience
  • You're passionate about innovation and evolving ways of working – always looking for smarter, faster, and simpler ways to support our stores

 

It would be great if you also have

  • Recent clinical store experience preferred but not essential
  • Advanced Excel and IT skills to support new digital projects
