The Distribution Center (DC) Senior Manager is responsible for the overall performance, leadership, and strategic execution of warehouse operations within the facility. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety, inventory accuracy, and employee engagement while meeting service level targets and cost objectives. The DC Manager leads a team of supervisors and associates, overseeing daily operations including receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns. Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and leadership in process improvement are essential.
Key Responsibilities:


Leadership & Team Management
•    
Direct and oversee daily operations of the distribution center, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
•    Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of all fulfillment staff, including direct reports and associates.
•    Make key personnel decisions including hiring, training, performance improvement plans, and terminations in collaboration with HR.
•    Establish clear team goals, delegate responsibilities, and monitor productivity and quality metrics.
•    Create and maintain a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work culture.
•    Effectively balance multiple tasks or daily operational responsibilities with strategic initiatives while being able to pivot quickly and respond to shifting business needs.
•    Conduct performance evaluations, manage corrective actions, and oversee career development and succession planning.


Compliance, Safety & Facility Oversight
• 
   Manage daily operations, including receiving, processing, and shipping.
•    Monitor and maintain labor planning, staffing, and shift coverage to meet productivity goals.
•    Drive accountability for inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and space utilization.
•    Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety protocols, and company standards.


Systems & Process Optimization
•    
Administer and manage all aspects of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
•    Lead system enhancements, training, troubleshooting, and data integrity efforts.
•    Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including workflow optimization and cost reduction strategies.
•    Support integration and coordination with ERP systems.
•    Lead and support change initiatives by fostering adaptability, clear communication, and employee engagement in order to have minimal disruption to operations.
•    Drives a culture of process improvement and encourages innovation to enhance operational efficiency.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
•  
 Partner with transportation, merchant, and planning teams to ensure a seamless end-to-end supply chain.
•    Communicate regularly with corporate leadership on performance updates, capacity planning, and operational challenges.


Reporting & Analysis
•  
 Track, analyze, and report on key operational metrics such as accuracy, processing rates, and labor efficiency.
•    Forecast resource needs based on business trends and recommend strategic adjustments.

Qualifications


Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field; or equivalent experience with proven results.
•    Minimum of 5 years of distribution, warehouse, or logistics management experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
•    Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and manage a diverse team.
•    Proficiency in WMS platforms and warehouse operational best practices.
•    Demonstrated ability to lead teams, execute process improvements, and manage operational KPIs.
•    Experience with LEAN principles or continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable
•    Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
•    Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
•    Ability to bend, stoop, climb ladders, and reach overhead with or without accommodations.
•    Comfortable working in a dynamic warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
•    Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and peak business periods such as holidays or sales events.
