Supervisor - Capacity Management presso Hirschbach Motor Lines

This Supervisor-Capacity Management is a player coach who leads a team of Capacity Managers responsible for securing and maintaining reliable carrier capacity across all markets. This leadership role ensures operational excellence and team development while driving accountability and performance in a fast-paced logistics environment. The Supervisor focuses on execution, coaching and KPI management, serving as the link between frontline operations and senior leadership.  

Key Responsibilities 

Team Leadership & Development 

• Lead and coach Capacity Managers to meet performance goals related to margin, on-time delivery, and carrier utilization 

• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and team huddles to reinforce priorities and skill development 

• Actively involved in the recruitment process, including conducting interviews for prospective team members 

• Foster a collaborative, high-energy culture aligned with All in to Win² values 

Operational Execution 

• Oversee daily load coverage across all markets, ensuring customer expectations are met 

• Actively contribute to load booking and carrier relationship development in a player coach capacity 

• Monitor KPIs including load count, pre-book%, tracking compliance, call volume and margin 

• Partner with Planning and Account Management to align capacity with customer needs 

• Escalate service issues and coverage gaps to leadership 

Carrier Relations 

• Support team in building and maintaining carrier relationships 

• Ensure carrier compliance with company standards and regulations 

• Review carrier scorecards and guide coaching conversations 

Process & Technology Adoption 

• Enforce SOPs and drive adoption of tools like Macropoint, Text Locate, and Highway 

• Identify workflow improvements to increase team efficiency and accuracy 

• Support automation initiatives as directed by leadership  

Communication & Reporting 

• Provide updates to Director—Logistics Operations 

• Serve as the escalation point for day-to-day coverage issues 

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred) 

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in capacity management, carrier sales, or logistics operations; leadership experience strongly preferred. 

• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and follow-through capabilities 

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across internal and external stakeholders 

• Proficient in TMS platforms, carrier tracking tools, and Microsoft Office Suite 

• Demonstrates commitment to company values and leads by example
