Area Vice President - Cafe Operations

Responsibilities:

Development – Strategy and execution for Hard Rock’s global café asset management

  • New site selection & lease negotiations
  • Location lease renewals & relocations
  • Territory – liaise with Franchise division to identify the approach  to maximize our returns   
  • Hotel & Casino – liaise with Hotel & Casino division to review cafe viability and operations modeling.
  • Liaise with design and development for the appropriate design layout, kitchen design, and viable build

      R&D / Purchasing – Development of all areas for brand alignment and quality execution

  • Menu
  • Strategic positioning for the global cafe business
  • Procurement
  • Marketing initiative activation through program execution at the cafe

      Revenues/Efficiencies – Micro and macro business analysis

  • New product opportunities
  • Opportunities for cost reductions
  • Technology pace/use considering financial investment vs guest value perception
  • Review of all systems within the cafe 

Responsibilities

  • Liaise and partner with all corporate areas to maximize Hard Rock Cafe portfolio and increase top-line sales and maximize revenues.
  • Development / Corp vs Franchise
    • Prioritize future development opportunities setting clear goals and objectives for the cafe health
    • Research & identify suitable locations within target markets for possible company-owned vs franchise
    • Review all café performances against the market to evaluate relocation, management approach and/or lease renegotiations
    • Co-ordinate development of cafe brand standards with design and development
  • R&D/Purchasing
    • Orchestrate the development of new menu items and determine the success of execution at the café level globally, within café and franchise.
    • Provide leadership and input to innovative beverage offerings, promotions & maximize relationships within the industry to ensure the guest are provided with a premium beverage offering.
    • Lead all efforts in procurement of consumable products, partnering with all outside vendors to ensure quality product and best cost.
  • Identify new revenue generating opportunities with partners, licensing and cutting edge business extension that fall within our brand filter as articulated in our brand assessment report (TBD)
  • Identify opportunities for higher revenues and cost reductions for cafes a) entire portfolio, b) by cafe, c) by regions internationally without impacting the guests' experience and/or expectations negatively.
  •  Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in the hospitality industry (retail, food & beverage and service).
  • Multi-unit Restaurant operating capabilities/knowledge.
  • High level of business acumen.
  • Franchise and/or Brand Development ability.
  • Background an environment that utilizes corporate and franchise relationship influencing.
  • Contribute to increased revenues of products or services through solid business practices and will have distinguished his/her company through exceptional guest service.
  • Business acumen to see creative opportunities within the brand across all of our profit centers – franchising, company café, and hotel/gaming.
  • Has prior successful management experience.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop managers at all levels.
  • Possesses a take-charge ability tempered with diplomacy.
  • Will be a strong decision maker who can spot and generate well-formed ideas.
  • Possesses superior communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demands of himself/herself and of other the highest professional standards and personal and professional integrity.
