As an Industrial Engineer at Lands’ End, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our production processes and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, develop innovative solutions, and implement best practices across our operations. This position requires a proactive problem solver with a keen eye for detail and a passion for continuous improvement. This position will support the Lands' End Outfitters division.

- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve warehouse processes, workflows, and layout for maximum efficiency.
- Collaboration: Partner with IT and cross-functional warehouse teams to integrate WMS with existing systems and processes.
- Monitor system performance and generate reports to utilize data analysis to identify trends and make recommendations for operational improvements.
- Labor Management Analysis: Participate in the development and maintenance of labor management programs, including data collection, analysis, and reporting to support workforce optimization.
- Process Improvement Support: Collaborate with Distribution Leaders to identify process inefficiencies and support the execution of continuous improvement projects aimed at cost reduction and operational excellence.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Gather, analyze, and report on key performance metrics related to distribution center operations, providing actionable insights to drive decision-making and process improvements.
- Support Automation Projects: Assist in the design and implementation of automation systems within distribution centers, contributing to efforts that enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities to reduce production costs through process improvements, material savings, and efficient resource utilization. Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making.
- Data Analysis: Utilize statistical and analytical tools to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to production processes. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects aimed at improving production efficiency, implementing new technologies, and enhancing overall operational effectiveness. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Skills
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), statistical analysis, and production planning tools. Experience with CAD software and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analytics, simulation, and project management tools.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex systems and processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop innovative engineering solutions to drive improvements. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence decision-making. Strong leadership and teamwork abilities, with a proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects.
- Project Management: Proven experience in leading and managing projects, with a track record of successfully implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
- Not a people leader but responsible for influencing Operational Leaders for process improvements including coaching for improvement.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Able to stand and walk on a cement floor for periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to travel to the Distribution Centers in different location in WI.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, operations research, statistics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Three- Five years of experience in a labor management program engineering labor standards within a distribution or fulfillment center in a private, government of military environment.
- Distribution Automation technologies experience.
