POSITION: AFTER CARE PROGRAM ASSISTANT (2 OPENINGS) LOCATION: MILLER TOT SPOT SCHEDULE: 3:00-6:00 PM MONDAY-FRIDAY, STARTING ASAP HOURLY RATE: STARTING AT $14.24 (INCREASE DEPENDS ON EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) AFFILIATION: NON-AFFILIATED
JOB GOAL: To ensure the physical and emotional well being of the Children attending the center and to assist the Coordinator in meeting the educational and social goals for each child according to his/her developmental level.
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities and minimum qualifications necessary to perform the essential job functions, duties and responsibilities. Requirements include the following:
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Some experience or college is preferred
Must meet State-mandated requirements for licensed child care centers in the State of Michigan.
Maintain a current CPR/First Aid endorsement.
Able to communicate with staff, parents, children and the public pleasantly and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES: An employee in this position may be called upon to successfully perform any or all of the following essential job functions, duties and responsibilities. The Child Care Supervisor reserves the right to add to, delete from, change and/or amend the requirements, duties and responsibilities, physical abilities and other abilities outlined.
Supervise the children’s activities in a manner, which will always keep children safe;
Assist the On Site Coordinator in providing appropriate childhood experiences;
Assist in keeping the room neat, clean, and ready for daily activities;
Report all problems or unusual occurrences to the On Site Coordinator or program Supervisors.
Be a partner in the philosophy and goals of Center
Assume direct responsibility for implementation of Center goals with small groups of children at the Supervisor’s request and guidance;
Prepare and serve snacks;
Abide by all applicable statutes rules, regulations, and policies.
Perform any other duties as requested by the On Site Coordinator.
