Job Summary:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is a strategic technical leader responsible for architecting, implementing, and supporting complex infrastructure solutions across client environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with consultative skills to design scalable, secure, and high-performing systems across virtualization, storage, backup, server, and application platforms. The ideal candidate is both a hands-on engineer and a trusted client advisor, capable of solving advanced infrastructure challenges and guiding clients through IT modernization, business continuity, and digital transformation initiatives.

Endpoint Duties & Responsibilities:
· Manages virtual infrastructure across VMware, Hyper-V, and Scale Computing hyperconverged systems.
· Designs and supports scalable hosting environments to meet uptime, performance, and security objectives.
· Leads virtualization migrations, upgrades, and performance optimization projects.
· Architects and maintains Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, CloudOS) environments.
· Configures and manages Active Directory, ADSync, Group Policy, and File Servers (mapped drives).
· Manages Remote Desktop Services/Terminal Services, Citrix, and TruGrid for remote access solutions.
· Deploys and manages cPanel/WHM environments for client and internal hosting needs.
· Configures, monitors, and supports NAS (Network Attached Storage) systems for high-availability data storage and access.
· Administers web server environments including SSL certificate installation, renewal, and automation.
· Manages API, batch, and development certificates in coordination with application and DevOps teams.
· Supports and administers MS SQL, MySQL, and Progress databases for application and business continuity needs.
· Ensures database backup, performance tuning, and security best practices.
· Implements and monitors data protection using Acronis, Backup Radar, Datto Endpoint Backup, and other server/desktop backup systems.
· Manages Disaster Recovery planning and testing initiatives.
· Develops Business Continuity strategies and ensure clients are prepared for outage and recovery scenarios.
o Provides infrastructure support and integration expertise for business-critical line of business systems such as: Great Plains, QuickBooks, Epicor, ACI,, CAD/Design, client-specific CRMs
· Partners with clients to align technology solutions with operational goals and compliance needs.
· Serves as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic guidance on infrastructure modernization, system integration, and IT risk mitigation.
· Documents solutions, prepare infrastructure roadmaps, and aligns with client budgets and goals.
· 20% Travel to client sites.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Product Ownership and System Maintenance
· Primary owner and responsible party for the assigned toolsets/platforms/vendors and their outcomes, specifically: Windows Server, RHEL, Citrix, Scale Computing, cPanel, Certificate Management, SQL/Database systems, NAS/Storage, Backup Radar, Acronis, and Datto Backup.
· Expected to make system adjustments, recommendations, and improvements.
· Create recurring maintenance procedure and effectively execute.
· Expected to be knowledgeable on related topics/systems to complete projects, onboardings, support escalations.
· Ability to estimate subject area labor, software, licensing, and hardware costs.
Requirements
Time Commitments & On-Call Expectations:
· Full-Time Role – Regular business hours with flexibility as required by project or incident response needs.
· On-Call Rotation – Participate in Tier 1 NOC and Tier 2 SOC escalation rotation every 2–3 months for a 2-week period.
· Tier 3 On-Call – Always available 24x7 for your designated area of responsibility. If Tier 2 (Tech Management) cannot resolve an issue, you are expected to respond to Tier 3 on-call inquiries within 2–4 hours.
· Work from Home with 20-40% average travel to local area client sites per week

Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
· 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or consulting roles.
· Proven experience with virtualization, storage, Windows/Linux server platforms, and disaster recovery.
· Experience with cPanel/WHM, database administration, and Active Directory synchronization tools is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Occasionally, equipment may need to be lifted or moved up to 25 lbs.
