Lewis Central Community School District is looking for a High School BPA (Business Professionals of America) Sponsor for the 2025-2026 year. This is a co-curricular position. Please view qualifications and expectations for this position below.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a teaching position with Lewis Central CSD in a relevant subject area as determined by a High School Building Administrator.
• An educational license from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) is mandatory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the overall well-being and development of students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

Job Summary: 

Under the general direction of a High School Building Administrator, the BPA Sponsor's primary responsibilities is to lead and develop students in co-curricular activities to help achieve both individual and program success.

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement effective program that in some assignments focus on skill development, teamwork, and well-rounded students.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to student participants, fostering their personal and extra-curricular growth.
• Plan and execute practice sessions as necessary.
• Create and maintain a positive and inclusive culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and commitment.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members to promote a supportive and engaging program.
• Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities as requested.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state policies.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding  activities, schedules, and expectations.
• Encourage academic achievement and emphasize the importance of balancing academics with extra-curricular activities.
• Attend, support and supervise students at competitions, performances, and other related events.

Travel Requirements:

This position may be required to travel to all related events and in some instance operate a school vehicle to transport student-participants to events.
