Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):

Junior Admissions Fellows are current students responsible for many of the activities related to the efficient operation of the Campus Visit, Events and Student Outreach programs. This includes, but is not limited to, serving as tour guides, ushers, greeters, and panelists at in-person and virtual events, and participating in all Admissions training and professional development opportunities, including campus tour guide training, throughout each semester. This is an entry level position with the opportunity to move into an Admissions Fellow position in following years.

**** Junior Admissions Fellows are not eligible for a consistent office shift until Fall Semester 2026. Spring 2026 duties include tour training, giving tours and helping during Admitted Student Day Events and serving as a supplemental pool of tour guides for daily visits.

**** In addition to uploading a resume, all candidates must submit a link within a separate file to a 60 second (at minimum) recorded video of themselves presenting on this topic: Why did you choose St. Olaf? What do you love about our community and why would you be excited to share that with prospective students? This video will be used for public speaking and presentation evaluation purposes (not for content).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide campus tours to prospective students and parents
  • Assist with the front desk operations
  • Assist with telephone and visit office work
  • Assist during on campus events
  • General office duties, including research, data entry, etc.
  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Current St. Olaf student in good academic/disciplinary standing
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and written communication skills
  • Experience with public speaking and presenting
  • Strong sense of initiative, self-direction and organization
  • Ability to work with students from a variety of backgrounds
  • Desire and ability to work autonomously, individually, and in a group
  • A high level of motivation, positive attitude, sense of humor, and service orientation
  • An awareness of the needs and aspirations of a highly selective, residential, liberal arts college

 

Wage: $11.75/hour
