Position Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Patrol of area.
2. Answering calls for service.
3. Investigation of criminal acts.
4. Operation of a computer terminal.
5. Operation of electronic devices.
6. Communication via mobile radio.
7. Effect arrest of violators.
8. Investigation of traffic collisions.
9. Carry out duties of the department.
10. Serve on special units.
11. Interview victims and suspects.
12. Attend training.
13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Between the ages of 21 and 45, unless currently active in Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- No felony or domestic violence convictions.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Must pass physical agility test, written exam, oral interview, polygraph and extensive background investigation.
- Must pass Police Pension board physical and pre-employment drug screening. Including Psychological exam.

Compensation and Benefits
- Salary – $60,055 (starting) - $103,178 (top non-supervisor pay with annual step raises)
- Retirement – Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System – 20 years at 60% of pay
- Insurance – Health & Dental (member insurance is paid for by the city- family insurance cost is at reduced rate).
- Sick Leave & Personal Time Off (PTO) – Paid days off include holidays per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Officers work a 10-hour workday; 8 days worked followed by 6 days off; (every other weekend off)
- Take home vehicle for eligible officers (10-mile radius from Yukon Police Department)
