Description
The Accountant/Financial Analyst II is responsible for assisting the Director of Finance with review and analysis of accounting records, ensures compliance with regulations and assists with refining reporting documentation.
Essential Functions
- Payroll and benefit reconciliations
- Grant funds monthly reconciliations
- Franciscan Center monthly reconciliations
- Provides backup for accounts payable and staff accountant.
- Assists in reconciling assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Works with the Financial Aid office to monitor federal work-study usage.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
- Assists in the annual preparation of the college’s 990 federal tax return.
- Prepares detailed schedules of account balances as needed for internal or audit purposes.
- Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting
- Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent work experience.
2. Experience with Fund and Nonprofit Accounting preferred.
3. Experience with 990 tax return preparation is a plus.
4. Experience with Higher Ed is a plus.
5. Experience with accounting systems (1-2 years minimum) required.
6. Excellent typing and calculator skills.
7. Ability to maintain good working relationships with others.
8. Ability to adapt to new accounting systems.
9. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
10. Must possess characteristics of honesty and integrity.
11. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail applications preferred.
12. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
13. High attention to detail.
