Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer at Conway Regional Health System

The Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Clinical Reviewer is responsible for collecting and submitting accurate, complete, and timely data to the MBSAQIP Data Registry Platform. This task is accomplished through high-quality data compilation, documentation, and entry of metabolic and bariatric procedures performed in the Conway Regional Health System into the MBSAQIP Data Registry Platform and potential other necessary platforms. The MBS Clinical Reviewer works closely with all members of the bariatric team and general surgery to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects that may be identified.

• MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

   

  • Bachelor’s degree with some College courses in biological or health sciences preferred.
  • Proof of high school or equivalent or higher education, required
  • Some clinical knowledge and understanding of patient care is required in order to collect the appropriate data and to assist in identifying areas for quality improvement.
  • Prior healthcare/medical terminology experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in hospital surgery department, surgery clinic, clinical research, or medical records.
  • Clinical chart reviewer and abstraction experience preferred
  • Ability to complete all online training modules and pass the certification exam is required.
  • Computer-Assisted Self-Directed New Employee Orientation
  • Successful completion of orientation skills checklist
  • Attendance at New Employee Orientation classroom program
