Job Summary: The Manager PBO Training and Data Posting is responsible for overseeing successful training and quality audit programs and the output and quality of all Data Posting unit functions for Loma Linda University Health's hospital Patient Business Office (PBO). Is responsible for determining the learning needs of our clients’ various audiences (vendors, staff, and leadership levels) to ensure appropriate and effective learning solutions and to position the organization for achievement of best practice standards. Provides leadership and direction to ensure designated cash flow, reconciliation, and reporting functions are completed in a timely manner while in compliance with policy and regulations. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Healthcare Management or other related Degree required. Minimum three years of progressive acute care academic hospital revenue cycle experience required; five years preferred. Minimum one year classroom teaching, developing curricula and training resources required. Minimum one year conducting quality audits in health care billing, collections, registration, or related area required. One year of supervisory experience preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Knowledge and Skills: General understanding of regulations associated with hospital revenue cycle performance. Knowledgeable of and comfortable with healthcare improvement methodologies; knowledge of reimbursement/payment policies, medical terminology, medical record coding, and claim billing strongly preferred. Able to read, write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications: Epic Credentialed Trainer in Hospital Billing and/or Prelude preferred. Must certify as a Credentialed Trainer in Hospital Billing and/or Prelude within eighteen months of hire.
