What you'll do:As a Mechanical Engineer, you will assist with the mechanical packaging design of communication electronics products and test fixtures for defense and commercial applications.
You will have the opportunity to build CAD models and engineering drawings. You will collaborate with a diversified group of teammates including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, material specialists, and program managers.
The day-to-day:- Assist senior mechanical engineers with electronic packaging design
- CAD model modification or creation
- Drawing revisions or creation
- Support of manufacturing activities

- This position is located onsite. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

Requirements:
- Education: Completion of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience: This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience
- US Citizenship is required
- Additional Requirements:
- A working knowledge of SolidWorks
- Completed a heat transfer course
- Experience with SolidWorks, SolidEdge, or Creo
- Experience with ANSYS or NASTRAN
- Experience with engineering drawings
- Previous Viasat internship experience
