What you'll do:

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will assist with the mechanical packaging design of communication electronics products and test fixtures for defense and commercial applications.

 

You will have the opportunity to build CAD models and engineering drawings. You will collaborate with a diversified group of teammates including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, material specialists, and program managers.

The day-to-day:

• Assist senior mechanical engineers with electronic packaging design
• CAD model modification or creation
• Drawing revisions or creation
• Support of manufacturing activities

Additional Information:

• This position is located onsite. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.

What you'll need:

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience: This role is intended for someone with 0-3 years of full-time, relevant industry experience
• US Citizenship is required 
• Additional Requirements:
  • A working knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Completed a heat transfer course

What will help you on the job:

• Experience with SolidWorks, SolidEdge, or Creo
• Experience with ANSYS or NASTRAN
• Experience with engineering drawings
• Previous Viasat internship experience

Salary range:$74,500.00 - $117,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $92,500.00- $138,500.00/ annually :At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
