About the position:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Engineer to join our team in the development of variable transmission light control film-based products for automotive and architectural applications.  This role requires a strong background in engineering, with expertise in product development, design, testing, and project management skills.  the successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product success, from concept through to commercialization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product requirements in collaboration with business unit and product and platform development teams
  • Define lead vehicles for product evaluation
  • Coordinate prototype builds of lead test vehicle for end product-level evaluation
  • Deliver customer demos to support business unit
  • Evaluate product performance against requirements - identify and develop new test methods as needed
  • Deliver integrated end-product performance against requirements at technical reviews
  • Develop and maintain documentation of product performance and test results
  • Develop and optimize product specifications in collaboration with Operations and Quality and report capability against specifications
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute product development plans
  • Support electronics system integration design, development, and verification efforts
  • Support root cause analysis to identify and address potential design and manufacturing issues
  • Lead product and platform lifetime and shelf-life testing

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering or a technical field (Mechanical, Materials, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering desired)
  • 3+ years'  experience in product development
  • Some programming experience
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis
  • Experience transferring a developed product component to high-volume manufacturing
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, self-management environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Preferences

  • Experience with optical films or displays
  • Experience working in automotive, windows, and architectural industries
  • Experience with outsourced or offsite manufacturing

Salary Range Disclosure: The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $160,000 not including any variable pay. The total compensation package may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other variable pay components. The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
