JOB SUMMARY

As a CAS Senior, Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing, managing, leading a team of accountants, and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of client engagements. Your expertise in accounting principles, team management, and client relationships will contribute to the success of the team and the delivery of high-quality accounting services to clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Client Accounting Support:

  • Oversee the accurate and timely completion of client accounting tasks, such as bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

  • Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and client-specific requirements

  • Monitor client accounts, identifying any issues or discrepancies and taking appropriate actions to resolve them

  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders

  • Identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement, providing insights and recommendations to clients and management

Client Communication and Support:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships based on trust and professionalism

  • Maintain strong client relationships, addressing inquiries, providing guidance, and ensuring client satisfaction

  • Understand clients' business objectives and challenges and provide strategic financial advice and recommendations

Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance, coaching, and support

  • Assign and prioritize tasks, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and meeting client deadlines

  • Provide constructive feedback, and identify training and development needs

  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork

Process Improvement and Compliance:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness

  • Implement best practices and streamline workflows to optimize productivity and quality of deliverables

  • Stay updated with accounting regulations and industry trends, implementing changes as necessary

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and client-specific requirements

  • Support internal and external audits, providing requested documentation and addressing audit findings

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard client assets and ensure data integrity

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Yes, will supervise staff members

  • Will participate in performance review process

Work environment

  • Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions

Physical demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

Travel required

  • Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client’s needs

Required education and experience

  • Prior and current general accounting experience in public accounting, corporate or private business

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Thorough understanding of intermediate accounting principals

  • Proficient knowledge of accounting software, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience

  • CPA license or relevant certification

  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, NetSuite
