Work hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Position Duties
- Assist classroom teacher
- Serve as a bus monitor
- Help children develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally
- Plan, document, and implement daily lesson plans and special activities
- Perform tasks associated with the education component and assure confidentiality
- Maintain proper supervision of children at all times indoors and outdoors
- Document and implement integration of component events in the classroom (i.e., handwashing, toileting, tooth brushing, preparing children for health services and community visits)
- Report any children concerns to the (assigned) Parent, Family, Community,and Engagement Advocate
- Report suspected child abuse or neglect to the immediate supervisor
- Insure daily implementation of the family style food service
- Support and assist volunteers serving in the education program
- Assume other task-related duties as requested
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
Other Qualifications
- Previous work experience with young children
- CDA or AA degree in Early Childhood Education
