Position Overview:
Benchmark takes pride in providing excellent customer service and the most efficient loan process to our borrowers. The Loan Officer Assistant is an integral part of this process and is responsible for supporting one or more Loan Originators or Production Partners through sales assistance, loan coordination, document collection, and customer service.
Ideal candidates for this position have a strong service-oriented mindset, proven organizational skills, and knowledge of mortgage products and guidelines.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Provide administrative and sales support to loan originators and production partners.
- Analyze mortgage applications and determine the programs best meeting the needs of the client.
- Collect and distribute documents and information pertinent to the processing and underwriting of the loan.
- Assist loan originators and production partners in managing the pipeline of loan applications while guiding client’s through the application to contract process.
- Communicate with applicants on behalf of the loan originator/production partner regarding expectations and loan status.
- Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Proven organization skills
- Knowledge of loan programs, program requirements, and rates
- Ability to speak with clients about figures, rates, net benefits, and monthly payments
- Ability to set clients’ files within certain parameters to meet FHA, CONVENTIONAL, USDA, JUMBO, and VA guidelines
- Ability to utilize CRM to follow up on leads and active files
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries
- Strong problem solving capabilities
Experience Requirements:
- One to two years of originating mortgage experience required. This can be in a front-end LOA or a loan originator role.
- Encompass LOS experience preferred
Education / Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- NMLS License Required
