As a Product Development Intern, you’ll collaborate with our talented Product Development (PDEV) team to bring innovative retail display concepts to life. You’ll help design, prototype, and test mechanical displays and graphics for top brands, retailers, and fixture manufacturers. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of tools, equipment, and design software while gaining exposure to the full product development process — from concept to finished prototype.

You’ll work closely with internal teams including Sales, Design, Engineering, Estimating, Sourcing, and Production, learning how to translate creative ideas into functional, manufacturable solutions that meet our clients’ needs. As a mentee under our Product Developers, you’ll build real-world experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (This internship requires onsite presence at our Chanhassen, Minnesota location. Relocation assistance, housing, and transportation are not provided. Candidates must reside in or be able to commute locally to the Chanhassen area for the duration of the internship.)

Compensation: $20.00 Hourly 

A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you:

  • are pursuing a degree in Engineering, Packaging Design, Structural Design, Display Design, or Fixture Design.
  • have a strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy hands-on problem-solving.
  • have experience or coursework using computer-aided design (CAD) or drafting tools.
  • are comfortable working with hand tools, machines, and shop equipment.
  • can read and interpret engineering, production, and shop drawings.
  • are curious, innovative, and eager to learn new technologies and manufacturing techniques.

On top of that you must:

  • be technically savvy and quick to learn new software programs and design systems.
  • collaborate effectively with co-workers and cross-functional departments.
  • maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • adapt quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • be enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to take on new challenges.

In this position, you will:

  • work directly with Product Developers to create, modify, and improve display concepts.
  • participate in the design, build, and testing of prototypes that meet customer requirements.
  • support internal production teams and assist in various stages of the development process.
  • operate shop equipment safely and effectively, following direction from Product Developers.
  • learn and apply TBG’s unique display manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • contribute ideas that enhance efficiency, innovation, and overall quality.
  • perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by management.
