Job Summary

We're looking for Data Analyst - Indirect Procurement with a can-do attitude and willingness to jump in to help wherever possible to solve a gap or need in the business. You're not afraid to ask questions, roll up your sleeves and dig where needed. You thrive on providing analysis that supports the sourcing team, encouraging responsible spending, sourcing products needed by the business and overall process improvement across multiple areas of indirect procurement.

As part of the Indirect Procurement team, you'll be responsible for data analysis, supplier evaluation, optimizing data management, ensuring data accuracy, identifying opportunities for cost savings, supporting process improvement initiatives, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure cost-effective and efficient procurement processes.

This role is an office-based position working out of our Union Square, NY office.

An employee in this position can expect an annual salary between $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.

What You Do

• Data Collection & Validation: Collect supplier and spend data from various sources, validate for completeness and accuracy, and prepare reports.
• Data Management: Maintain and manage procurement data systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
• Reporting & Analysis: Assist in development of standardized, automated reports, update and manage data trackers, request supplier purchase history data, identify areas for potential savings, and create ad hoc presentations.
• Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in procurement processes and propose solutions and support change management initiatives.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data meets business needs and supports decision-making, including scheduling meetings and taking projects.
• Supplier Research & Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for indirect goods and services.
• Strategic Sourcing: Support sourcing activities, supplier selection, and contract management compliance through identifying potential suppliers, setting up NDAs, creating financial baselines and total cost of ownership comparisons, drafting RF(x) documents, and validating project savings.
• Industry & Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, key suppliers, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement operations & analytics. Monitor market trends and conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance, track key performance indicators, set up business reviews, and implement improvement plans as needed.
• Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficient in Excel, Power BI, and is very comfortable with data and telling a story based on the data. Experience pulling data from procurement platforms and an understanding of procurement KPIs and indirect spending categories. Familiarity with spend analytics and e-sourcing platforms is a plus.
• Communication: Able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. Clear written and verbal communication for stakeholder meetings, executive updates, and data summaries.
• Analytical & Financial: Able to build TCO models, budgeting & usage forecasts, and supplier scorecards while delivering clear, data driven recommendations.
• Project Management: Able to manage multiple, time-sensitive initiatives and capital projects with disciplined follow-through.
• Influence & Cross Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to influence stakeholders across design, operations, construction, facilities and finance to align on sourcing decisions.
• Documentation Maintenance: Captures processes in a clear & concise manner and is able to share with stakeholders at any time when requested.
• Troubleshooting: Looks for opportunities to assist with troubleshooting with partners when needed.
• Flexibility: Jumps into projects when needed and provides updates to senior leadership.

Knowledge & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience working as a data analyst.
• Strong background in data cleansing, manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to present complex data clearly and concisely to support decision-making.
• Experience managing projects end to end with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience meeting deadlines and being an independent worker
• Ability to learn proprietary software programs
• Ability to accomplish department objectives by meeting work standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Exceptional expertise in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of Smartsheet, Service Channel or other ticketing & supply channel software
• Experience with projects in multiple technologies, functions, and industries.
• Able to travel up to 10%.
