The Athletic Gift Officer is a key frontline fundraising professional responsible for developing, managing, and executing a comprehensive fundraising program to secure philanthropic support for Hastings College Athletics. The Officer will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors and will work in close coordination with the Athletic Director, coaches, and the College's main Foundation office to meet annual and long-term fundraising goals that align with athletic priorities.


This position reports directly to the Athletic Director. This position will also work in collaboration with the Hastings College Foundation Executive Director and other Foundation staff. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Major Gift Fundraising: Actively manage a portfolio of prospects to identify, cultivate, personally solicit, and secure major gifts ($10,000+) for athletic priorities like scholarships, facilities, and team budgets.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner directly with the Athletic Director and head coaches to develop and execute targeted fundraising strategies and proposals that align with department priorities.

  • Booster Club & Annual Giving: Lead the Bronco Booster Club, managing membership, events, and retention, while also planning and executing all athletic-focused annual giving appeals (direct mail, crowdfunding, giving days).

  • Corporate Sponsorships & Events: Identify, solicit, and secure new corporate sponsorships for the department and manage key fundraising events, such as golf tournaments.

  • Donor & Event Engagement: Meet monthly performance metrics for donor visits and solicitations; represent Hastings College Athletics at events and functions, which requires regular evening and weekend availability.

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. 

  • At least three years of professional experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or business development, with a preference for experience in an athletics or higher education setting.
