Unit Overview:
4G is a 20-bed telemetry unit specializing in the care of post-operative cardiac patients, including those recovering from CABG and other cardiac surgeries, as well as patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) and moderate-risk chest pain. The unit serves a diverse patient population with multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs. Patients are typically transferred from the ICU, ED, or PACU for continued cardiac monitoring and recovery.
Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing is a visionary and results-driven nurse leader responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of one or more hospital units. This position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care within areas such as Critical Care, Emergency Services, Maternal and Child Care, Medical/Surgical, or Ambulatory Care. The Director provides 24/7 leadership and accountability, fostering excellence in clinical practice, staff engagement, and operational performance.
Job Description:
The Director will lead with vision and collaboration, driving excellence in nursing practice and patient outcomes through:
- Talent Leadership – guiding recruitment, retention, onboarding, and professional development for unit staff.
- Performance Management – conducting evaluations, providing competency feedback, and fostering growth at all levels.
- Operational Oversight – developing, implementing, and managing departmental budgets, resources, and staffing.
- Quality & Patient Care Excellence – promoting evidence-based practice, culturally sensitive care, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.
- Strategic Collaboration – partnering with hospital leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to shape patient care programs, policies, and initiatives.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensure Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Registered Nurse license in Kentucky
- 5 years of experience as a staff nurse
- 3 years of management experience
