Job Purpose
- Deliver, maintain, and repair garbage carts, as well as supporting various tasks related to waste management.
Tasks
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure timely and reliable service delivery to our customers.
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver and retrieve garbage cans from residential and commercial locations.
- Load and unload garbage cans onto the delivery vehicle with care to prevent damage.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on garbage cans to ensure their functionality and appearance.
- Replace damaged or worn parts as needed.
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups.
- Handle ongoing bulk pickups and other requests that require non-trash truck capability.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Complete necessary paperwork, logs, and reports promptly and accurately.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and guidelines.
- Drive defensively and follow all traffic laws and regulations.
- Participate in regular safety training and meetings.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize routes and improve service efficiency.
- Communicate any operational challenges or opportunities for improvement to the operations manager.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of company vehicles and equipment.
- Tag garbage or recycling containers to inform customers of problems, such as excess garbage or inclusion of items that are not permitted
Requirements
- Have a Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- To be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
- To be able to step up into a truck repeatedly
- To work in an environment that often smells musty, putrid, or rancid
- To potentially work in an environment that has seasonally high heat or low temperatures due to being outdoors
- To potentially work in an environment that has wet or humid conditions due to be being outdoors
- Able to handle manual lifting and moving of garbage carts
Qualifications
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Outdoor Labor: 1 year (Preferred)
- Box Truck: 1 year (Preferred)
- Must Be Able To Pass Motor Vehicle Report
- Must Be Able To Pass Background Check
