COMPETENCIES:

1. Demonstrates competence in waived testing
2. Urine Collection
3. Breath Alcohol Analysis
4. Pregnancy Testing 
5. Saliva Collection
6. Demonstrates competence in Narcan administration
7. Demonstrates knowledge about behaviors and treatment of individuals with substance use, dependence, and other addictive behaviors
8. Demonstrates knowledge about medication assisted therapy
9. Understands the benefits and limitations of toxicological testing procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Monitors and collects various urine drug screens under chain of custody procedure.
2. Collects specimens of hair and saliva for drug collection and processing.
3. Performs Breath Alcohol Analysis as a trained B.A.T. (Breath Alcohol Technician).
4. Performs criminal background checks according to procedure.
5. Maintains records and logs of all specimen tests obtained and processed.
6. Responsible to photocopy and mail, in a timely manner, results of drug screens and saliva testing as requested by companies, with proper release of information.
7. Orders supplies, maintains inventories and stocks of Lab Prep area.
8. Maintains a clean work environment.
9. Assists the Medical Department as directed.
10. Participates in Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure/Chemical Hygiene Training.
11. Participates in staff development program according to Agency policies and procedures
12. Reports all unusual incidents and accidents according to Agency procedures.
13. Participates in Agency health and safety practices and drills.
14. Attends all scheduled staff meetings, supervision meetings and committee meetings as designated.
15. Upholds all Agency policies, procedures and regulations; and supports the overall mission and philosophy of the Agency.
16. Maintains harmonious relations within and outside the Agency in conducting Agency business.
17. Maintains professional appearance at all times with regard to appropriate office attire. Any exceptions or special circumstance require prior approval of supervisor.
18. Other duties as assigned by the President/CEO, CMO, Administrator, and/or Medical Manager.

Requirements

High School diploma required.
