Description

We are seeking a Vice President, Performance and Development to join our team!  In this strategic role with Upstate Coin and Gold, you will be responsible for enhancing employee and organizational performance through training, goal-setting, and strategic development programs. Key duties include assessing training needs, creating and implementing programs, evaluating their effectiveness, and coaching employees to align their professional growth with business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to improve employee engagement, productivity, and retention. 

 

Core responsibilities

  • Strategy and planning: Develop and implement the overall performance and development strategy, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals. This includes creating annual plans and budgets for learning and development initiatives.
  • Needs assessment: Identify skill gaps and development needs across the organization through analysis and discussions with employees and managers.
  • Program development and implementation: Design, source, and deliver training programs, workshops, and other learning opportunities using various modalities like e-learning, coaching, and classroom settings.
  • Performance management: Work with employees to set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance appraisals to monitor progress and impact.
  • Program evaluation: Measure the effectiveness of training programs and development initiatives using key metrics and data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Leadership and coaching: Coach and mentor employees and managers to support their professional growth and development plans. 

Qualifications


  • Leadership and interpersonal skills: The ability to lead a team, build relationships across all organizational levels, and facilitate sensitive discussions.
  • Communication and presentation: Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and compellingly convey complex ideas.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking: The capacity to think strategically, interpret performance data, and use it to inform decisions.
  • Business acumen: A strong understanding of business operations and financial concepts.
  • Technical and instructional design skills: Proficiency in designing, developing, and delivering training programs and understanding adult learning principles.
  • Experience: Typically requires several years of experience in a related field, such as human resources, training, or talent development
